Why are you called TURTLE?

We chose the name because a TURTLE is a great example of persistence, longevity, endurance and wisdom. We don’t believe in fast and not thought through decisions. We wanted to symbolise that the company stands for longevity, sustainability and wise business operations.

No. We view us as a provider of technological infrastructure for maritime professionals to match.

Does TURTLE work with manning agencies?

TURTLE provides the marketplace to seafarers and ship owners for direct employment. In order to provide the best overall service, we cooperate with well chosen manning agencies. Further, in case the direct employment is not possible due to local restrictions the matching process may be coordinated with a local manning agency.

Data security and profile visibility

Will my profile be visible to my current employer?

No. Your profile is not public. You can select the registered ship owners who will be able to see your profile during the matchmaking process.

Will TURTLE call my employer for references?

No. We will not contact or call any of your former or current employers.

Registration, access & Job Search

How to register?

Please navigate to our registration page, choose “Seafarer” as the account type and enter your name, surname, email address and a strong password in line with the password criteria. Once submitted, you will receive an email from hello@go-turtle.com with a confirmation link. After selecting the link, you will be able to login and start editing your professional profile.

How to get access?

Once you have entered all required fields in your professional profile, we will get in touch with you for a final verification (by video call). Afterwards we will activate your profile.

Which Ship Owners are already registered?

Once you are registered and have access, you can see the company's profiles to find out more about them.

We welcome every rank. If you don't find your rank listed, please contact us.

How does the matchmaking process work?

The ship owner will initiate a vacancy and our system will match your profile against the requirements of that vacancy. If you have selected the status "available" and your professional capacity and skills match the open vacancy, your profile will be shown anonymously to the Ship Owner. He is then able to send you an inquiry for an interview which - upon your acceptance - puts you in touch directly. Also, your full CV will be shown to the ship owner after the interview acceptance.

I'm from the Philippines. Can I also register?

You can register, but we need to adapt to local restrictions. Your matchmaking process will be coordinated with a local manning agency.

Do I need to pay for the registration?

TURTLE is and will be free of charge for seafarers.

Will I be employed by TURTLE?

No. Your contractual relationship will be with the ship owner. 

How long does it take me to find a job on TURTLE?

There is no general answer, as it depends on your specific profile and the available jobs.

Will our company be visible to the Seafarers?

Once you have registered, your company's logo will be displayed on our homepage. Your company’s profile will be visible to registered seafarers.

Can Seafarers see open vacancies?

Seafarers cannot see open vacancies and thus cannot apply directly.

Once submitted, you will receive an email from hello@go-turtle.com with a confirmation link. After selecting the link, you will be able to login and start editing your company’s profile.

How to get access?

Once you have entered all required fields in your company’s profile we will get in touch with you for a final verification and contracting formalities. Afterwards we will activate all functionalities for you in our system.

How do I find a Seafarer?

You cannot search for seafarers directly. Only after posting a vacancy, available profiles matching with your vacancy will be shown anonymously. Learn more about the matchmaking process here.

 

Which ranks will be listed on TURTLE?

We welcome all ranks. In case you have a specific request, please contact us.

How does the matchmaking process work?

You can initiate a vacancy including a few specifications that will then show you all anonymized profiles of seafarers that match with your vacancy. Then it’s up to you to choose your candidates and follow on with the recruiting process.

Which Seafarer nationalities can register?

We welcome every nationality, but we need to adapt to local restrictions. E.g.: The matchmaking processes with a Filipino Seafarer will be coordinated with the local manning agency of the respective ship owner.
