On 22 October 2026, the 7th Maritime SheEO Conference took place in Mumbai under the motto She owns. She builds. She invests. Christina Berg, Head of Communications at TURTLE, joined the panel “Your Career Is Your Ship: Taking Control Early” to talk to cadets and young maritime professionals about the start of their careers.
The panel was moderated by Divyanshi Dhyani, a cadet at the International Maritime Institute.
When good candidates drop out over avoidable mistakes, or young seafarers pay for jobs they should get for free, the whole industry loses. Clear guidance at the start of a career helps cadets make better decisions, and it helps shipping companies find and keep the people they need.
